I have tried to document as clearly and accurately as possible the account of my back problems. I hope that this will assist you in furthering your knowledge / studies of Directed Pressure Point Technique and that this will lead to patients who are in need of your services, but unable to afford the costs as they find that this service is not available on medical aid, which is such a pity. It is far more beneficial than having to go into hospital, or to have a major operation. I do urge you to please look into every possible means for this to happen.
In about October 1996 I started to experience pain down the back of my left leg, this pain steadily got worse even though I had physio and later resorted to going to a chiropractor, the latter actually making the problem far worse. I went to see my G.P. who sent me in November 1996, to see an orthopaedic surgeon. Needless to say after he saw the acute pain I was in, did not let me go home. At Constantiaberg Mediclinic further tests, x-rays and MRI scans were done. The result being that I had to have a left hemi-laminectomy and discectomy. Due to a bad infection, instead of staying 5 days in hospital I had to stay for 28 days.
A brace was fitted to my left leg to enable me to walk. I had no problems for about 13 years. In April 2009, I developed an acute pain in my low back, right groin and right knee. This pain resulted in my having to stop my water aerobics exercise classes twice a week and also my walking 3 kilometres a day.
I was recommended to go and see a Directed Pressure Point Technique Practitioner. I just about crawled into his consulting room, after he applied the technique for the very first time, I was able to walk out almost pain free. I now try to go for a treatment of my own accord every 4-6 weeks. This keeps me mobile and active. It has not only helped with my back problem, but as a chronic sufferer, I have for many years been troubled with constipation which has now also cleared up. I am now as regular as clockwork! My hay fever is almost non-existent. So far this year I have not had any colds or flu, even with all the swine flu about. I usually have to take two lots of antibiotics to get over a bout!
Very many thanks for your help, kindness, generosity and Directed Pressure Point Technique.
Yours faithfully
Pat
